Any Last Words? Keep it going - it was an amazingly +ve experience and i will be there in 2010 and hope to be able to contribute far more than i did this year. Slight concern of things going missing at 09 and this can only be exacerbated by Nowhere growing larger || I was sooooo impressed with the organisation of the event. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing to make an amazing event happen. The working atmoshphere at werkhaus was well on form. || Love it love it love it. || Good job! || You guys rock! || hurray! too much fun! || Thank you - simply put it made my year. || The core values of self reliance, social responsibility, creative freedom and Leave No Trace need to be understood more clearly by the Nowhere population. || A lot more work to be done, but we are doing well. || Great experience!! || Having never been but having experienced Burning Man, after six months of producing, planning, and being a part of making it happen and knowing all the details, all my expectations were still completely blown away, and I had such a stunning experience. It will forever be a part of who I am. I would like to comment positively on the growth of Nowhere with a bit of advice. We had a big leap in numbers and magnitude with a lot of strength in infrastructure. The contact high was incredible with the ratio of people in the community. I would like to see the cap of tickets stay roughly the same, with maybe only a 10-20% growth, like 550-600, for just one more year, instead of allowing it to suddenly leap again to 700 or higher. This will help the festival continue to evolve with a natural strength while also allowing the magic of a family where everyone roughly encounters and knows each other to continue. That is the truly stunning element of the festival. As a first timer also hearing about previous years, this would be my advise to see the festival grow and keep its roots. || Thank you! Abrazos y besos || THANK YOU all for the work, effort and passion I know you have dedicated in order to create this most amazing and wonderful event. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. || I love Nowhere! || Way to Go :-) || It was great 2009, different to 2008, shure,.... perhaps less interactive than 2008,... but with a good energies,... i came back with a lot of great inspirations,... || I love Nowhere, I love the people, I love the community, I love the Spirit, i love the desert. Once again i had the most amazing time with some of the most amazing people on this planet. This year felt like the beginning of something really big and powerful. The only thing i am sad about is that i have to wait another year to go again. || would be nice if every one who is attending NoWhere accepts the same rules. like - being open for others and giving them space. I had difficulties with the very big group of people - always showing up together, and overflowing the space. when they showed up there was no chance to be different. when they hang out in a lounge they took the space over and touching every one around them. I feel not respected in my personal likes and dis-likes. I welcome all individuals. but if groups try to put their specific tone on top of the festival I think it is not fair to the individuals around them || Everyone who makes this event what it is rocks. I love you all. Please can someone step up to do a recycle camp next year and if the Ice Camp don't come back we need someone else to do that too. Also- lots of new roles need filling for Nowhere 2k10 so contact Norg if you want to get involved. || Nowhere is nowhere. But future nowhere is almost now here. Hope its not going to lose its personalism, and ability to undeniably include all participants as being one fucking big disperate freak family. Thats indelibly empowering. The thought of getting lost in the crowd, or being too big that people find themselves in that position would...well.. it would be like that other used-to-be festival over the pond wouldnt it? Thats not neccessarily what all radical rockstars need to build in clone form is it? I hope not. Thanks for the census opportunity. Great work holmes, gold star x || Nowhere is what we make it...and I'll be back!:-) || Just afraid it turns into a Rave party (like most gatherings in England and elsewhere. Could be fine to stop music at 1 p.m. || I will do better next year ! a bigger camp with more artist, more ice, more more... || I loved the event.... having said that, your greeters really need to stress LNT (Leave No Trace) I was constantly picking up other peoples crap the entire time I was on site. I understand that there are allot of non burners attending but, it really is up to the greeters to ask all to employ LNT. DOWN WITH MOOP ! Other than that you guys really rocked it out! Thank you for all your hard work! Much love and, peace to you all! || Nowhere is absolutely awesome and I would like to thank the organisers for the work they've done. But I would suggest for next years to stop the music at 2 am for example (we had a bad experience this year with loud music at 5am.... horrible !). I know that at Burning Man, there is no stop for everything but BM is different. || Thanks a bunch. || I would like it to be more transparent with regards to the organisation. Even if you don't get involved or know people- I think access to where the ticket money goes on etc should be more accesible. I also think it is meant to be a place for inclusion and entire self-expression yet I feel that if you are not part of certain social circles and hold a certain way of life- you may be excluded. Even in an inadvertent way. People with little confidence or who are learning about Nowhere as they go along and make mistakes- there should be more effort made to make them feel at ease. However- it is an incredible event. Just feel some people are way to into being "core organisers" and get a little up their own arse. It seems to me. || I think the effort everyone has put in to creating a wonderful place in the middle of a hot beautiful place is outstanding. Life is all about living we can only hope but only seems relevant to a minority. Hopefully more people will be attracted to this place and feel the rewards we all feel taking part. With regards to the development of the project i feel that the funding process should be focused on art which is inclusive and interactive and brings people together to enjoy each others loveliness. So we can feel for just a few days that we are part of a lovely community like we once were many many eons ago. Anyway i had a lovely enlightening time, and learned some new things about myself and life itself. I understand nowhere to be an all year round presence that constantly brings like minded people together and hopefully will continue. Loads of love, Georgi || Would like to see more commitment from the artists who received grants to bring their artwork to fruition at Nowhere. Would have liked to see more art in general! xx || There should be more art. But next time I will help with that... || Loved it. Well organised. With only 300 people it had such a great atmosphere as it seemed 100% were participating, and you could meet people again easily. Also, I forgot my ticket and the nowhere people were so responsive and made it very easy for me. Thanks! I hope to be back again sometime. || It would be great to have more free stuff about, such as coffee, or fresh baked something. The tobacco on the climbing wall was key. At times the event seemed a bit clickish, don't know how to fix this other than more communal stuff. Camps are cool, however I think there should be a tradition of reciprocity and picking up stragglers. Good time any way. Ramp up the environmental protection. || Just thank you for everything you have done. This experience is just amazing, and i spent a week totally awsome. Thanks and i hope to see you next year. Pedro || I want to thank all the team and volunteers for making it happen, and making it a success. I felt afternoons were boring (too hot, "nothing" to do), but I really enjoyed late afternoon / early evening activities (fashion show, Miss Nowhere,...). || Huge THANKS for pulling it together! Nowhere was the city where serendipities ruled!!! Much Love and Appreciation! V || Thank you for you work and your ideas, your good energy as well. Then, i think the programs were not enough clear (fashion show, miss nowhere...). It was supposed to be one day and it was another one at last minute. Not so cool when you brought a big costume to it and not have enough time to wear it. Good energy to all of you until next year!! || You guys make no sense. You were all horrible. Never again. I do not like facist gatherings like this. || Problems with the "MUSIC" at Nowhere 2009, much more than in 2008. Music in the Middle Of Nowhere was VERY VERY hard, much too noisy, and pure boum-boum absolutely no interessant to hear ! Almost nobody was dancing in this place every night. Also many times someones made music suddenly at 4 or 5 in the morning, VERY VERY HARD, so that no one could sleep any more in all the camp (except the drunken people, of course)... || It was brilliant and lots of fun - thank you! || On the last day of nowhere, sitting amongst the beautiful people and surroundings in centre camp, enjoying the play/performance, i noticed a group of four 'ordinary/town' people being shown around. I later asked someone about this who informed me (please excuse me if i'm wrong here) that the organisers want to involve the local community more and perhaps get local spaniards coming to the festival. while i have absolutely no objection to inclusion and freedom of choice, i'm wondering whether opening up this very unique event to a wider audience would change the its vibe. Currently people are of a similar wavelength/mindset/being as they have arrived here organically through other similar/connected events. i can understand the organisers may want to involve the local community more and open it up but maybe that will make it more of a spectator event too. anyway, it’s just a concern (maybe i've been misinformed??) but the image of the four 'visitors' was quite surreal - all dressed in bright, clean t-shirts and shorts and carrying mobile phones and looking through at us in centre camp with curiousity, interest and intrigue...would love to find out more and chat about this further if i ever get the opportunity as i think it's an interesting area of discussion... || Nowhere was interesting, loads of fun, very inspirational and I learnt a lot about myself and the world. A big Thanks to everyone who contributed to this event! || Someone (this includes me) should organize caravanes biking through Europe going to nowhere. / migrating cities! || super! || thank you melania! || thank you for doing this. || wow || my last words? remember me, it, whatever, and smile!! || thanks to the organisers. please try to limit to 1000 people ( first inscriptions by example ) next year I don't want that Nowhere becomes like Burning Man. PS : please - more WC next year. best regards || There seems to have been myriad concepts about what NoWhere IS... which is fine, because we should all define the experience ourselves. HOWEVER, lest we allow the event to deteriorate into just another festival or a big party/rave, I believe we would do well to emphasize the basic principles of the event (in the larger scheme of Burning Man and other regional Burn events) and a few basic rules. I have attended several regional Burns in the US, and each does this. I was surprised at NoWhere by the lack of adherence to a few basic rules emphasized at other regional Burns. In particular, I was a bit put off by the extent to which people were photographing / video-recording others without gaining permission. A good basic rule would be "photographing and video-recording are encouraged, but you must acquire EVERYONE's permission who can be identified in your photo / video." Radical Self-Expression would be facilitated by adherence to this rule. Also "No means No" -- respect each others' boundaries. Finally, I was a bit shocked to find several decorations for my camp were STOLEN... some even blatantly! This is not a commune... while GIFTING is one of our principles, it does not mean that everything I bring is for any other participant to take and do with what they will. Since the event concluded, I have read many stories of others whose things were stolen. This kind of practice is destructive and will hurt the event in the long-term. I want to see NoWhere grow and flourish; but we are at a point where we need to really make sure that people who are coming are fully aware of what the event is all about and what the basic principles and rules are. See you in 2010! || Nowhere is a place, like Burning Man, where individuals get to explore a free'r looser way of living. Or at least it should be. The presence of theme camps at both, however, act to transform the event into something more tribal than utopian though, with private parties and favours going on for those within their camp. I propose that the organisers of Nowhere harness the creative power of theme camps by letting people create extra arenas which will be run by the Nowhere organisers. This allows a centralisation of the organisation, allowing parties to be scheduled and synchronised all around the event...including quiet periods for people to catch sleep. Of course crews who build new venues should be able to elect their own talent but within a global timetable. Basically the Nowhere organisers become a beneavolent enlightened government, or orchestrator, overseeing the flow of the event. Beyond this, however, no seperate camps, with seperate facilities, seperate crews of campers, and seperate forms of entertainment, should exist. We should all be forced to mingle a little more. This isn't such a big deal in America, where people are really sociable anyway... but many Euro's are a bit shy and they just end up hanging with their camp. Think of it this way. If you turned up alone at Nowhere... would you like it if it felt like you'd walked into a party filled with preconceived groups of people each dancing to their own drum...or would it be a better experience if the whole place was chaos, with no clear groups, no clear camps. Theme camps destroy the need to socialise, meet new people, sleep with strangers, and generally explode your personal bubble. I'd get rid of them if I were you or else you're probably gonna see the event become more and more tribal, more divided between the rich with extra camp membership and the poor, the sociable insider and the shy outsider, theme camp vip party goers and lone camp voyeurs, looking on at the cool shit they're being excluded from. This isn't happening at Nowhere yet but it is happening at Burning Man and I feel that, with theme camps, it's only a matter of time before it does. Why else do you think that Burning Man is now being flooded with tourists who've come to watch other people party? That's my 2 cents :) || ♥ || use toilet paper on both sides, the success will lie on your hand || no... || thank you!!!! xxoo || greening Nowhere is very important - good start but let's make it better. directions to water fountain in near villages / town would be useful. we brought bottles to refill, can use them year in year out. || i love you mom. || que guey! || A wonderful place to be with people of like mind. The freedom to speak, dress and interact the way i want to. A fantastic setting. The fashion show was out of this world BUT I found that the music was too loud this year and went on for too long. The music was also not very varied. The Miss Nowhere pageant was not my cup of tea... it catered to a certain profile and was not open to all || just to say all's marvelous... || more places to make love fresh! || Nowhere was cool, my only regret is that I was surrounded by techno or music I don't like, at BM , you could find hundreds of groups playing jazz, rocks, ..... however, it would be unfair to compare BM to Nowhere taking into account the size of this last one. Keep Nowhere Now_here ;-) || vivez now here || thank you. || thanks team - i really appreciate all your hard work || thank you for a really inspiring first Nowhere xx || There should be some limites to the sound level. The location was beautiful. The leave no trace was really working! Lets take it to the next level next year. It would be good to encourage people the day before the last day to post if the can take someone with them in their car. I went away with 2 spaces free in my car. If the organizers would have encouraged me to post already on Saturday perhaps I could have helped someone out. || Beautiful place, beautiful people, wonderful time, ice camp best DJ's, will be back definitely || i love nowhere more than i can actually explain. i actually do not have enough vocab to explain. and i am a bit sunstroked. xxxxx || it's great to be here, and live this experience in a good mind. people are respectful, music is diverse and intense. but i dont like the french swingers "les partouzeuns de droite" (partouzes=orgy). see you next year. || It's important to keep the festivals individual personality and not to follow burning man all the way, we're in Spain in a different environment and not in the nevada desert. Europe rocks. || had a deadly laugh! pretty happy right now. pen is broken. sorry. || As my first experience, it has been fantastic and good for my spiritual and social life. i'm very happy. essence of Nohwere for ever. || Nowhere is fine. || Nowhere makes us smile. see you next year! || thank you, it was a smaller and more managable experience than Burning Man in a beautiful environment. also felt ethically better not to fly so far. || thank you || thank you so much. I'm feeling really strong emotions right now. I'm coming back. this place, these people have helped me shine. miss nowhere 2009 sums up everything. || Questions in Sex & Love: Why it's so important? || the spanish translation is crap. || thank you for funding the NEWS! || mrs peterson || angels are always with us, accept them and their protection and guidance! || stop branding... burning home, burning theme no pictures / no media / || last? || I LOVE YOU! || keep up the wicked good work!!! || Maybe the music could be less loud after 3am. That's all, that was great. || i have to pee now || hopefully not last words but i love love love Nowhere, it's heaven on earth ♥ ♥ stay safe & happy (: ♥ || wanna see Nowhere more green. more solar, mind, etc... amazing place, amazing people, huge potential thank you all for your beautiful world. x || virgin nooner. getting a feel for it, already inspired to do something big next year! || keep on shining and continue to spread good vibes around the world! thank you beautiful people. be happy (: || This year was even more fun than last year and I think I feel more at ease with the community. I do feel however that the core crew still take on too much and need to delegate more jobs so they are not too grumpy. || I had a great, great time. I loved the benevolence of the Nowhere and especially its simplicity. There will definitely be a before and after Nowhere. It was great to see that I was not alone in my way of thinking which was expressed at Nowhere. The only slightly negative aspect was the relative lack of integration of some French people (is it because of the language barrier?) and too few Spanish people for an event held in Spain. Thanks? || I think I made them earlier, but to re-iterate: No sound installations at night. Try and keep it (whist it's small) to one main party per night, so that's where people go. Also I believe there was an incredibly disturbed man on site. I believe in inclusivity, but I also believe, based on negative experiences a close friend had last year, in protecting the community. I think Norg needs to consider protecting the community as regards mentally unstable people that may come onto site. Those are the things to consider. Also worth saying is: I had a fucking unbelievably good time (again). It's the singlemost wonderful conglomeration of free, artistic, imaginative and energetic folk. It wouldn't have happened without all the time you guys dedicate to making it happen, so thanks. Xxxxx || It was fabulous, Thank you all so much! || It was amazing, wish i had come out of my shell a bit more. || A space with water would be very welcome !!! Maybe a bar with just hot and refreshing drinks like in Burning man. || god, i love it here. || Live music, por favor! And a proper translation for Spanish and French on this survey would be great as well! || concern that arable living soil has been killed. a man-made desert is very bad. what was here before? || I love you Béné :) || it would be achievable to make nowhere completely renewably powered. the big green gathering in the UK has NO generators on site, just wind and solar. so easy here with all this wind and sun! will this census be posted on the website after? be interesting to read... || last year the event felt more cohesive. this year, it seemed that everyone was doing their own thing. not as big a community feel, this year. || last... || to be honest you must live outside the line || a thousand thank you || I love you. || ra! || RAR || i want this sort of event to work and it tickles me pink when the success rate is so high, incredible. so many cultures, so many new friends that i'll know forever. a true feather in my cap. you have, and will continue to, rock my world. || enjoy the best, fu*k the rest. space invaders are back!!! || regulate the sound systems better. the italian sound system was the "best" - meaning insanely loud and playing mind-bending shit eurotrash techno all the time. was really surprised not to hear better music and the find the italian sound system was allowed to dominate. || is so beautiful || respectful, positive, self behaviour || love to all Census people (: || Thank you. || I love Nowhere! || it is ridiculous to celebrate Nowhere in Spain in July 11. it is a source of disease to have all this trash under the sun. plus it is horrible for the skin. || yes, why we pay money and get a place where you have to bring everything, then is too hot and the org doesn't put a the fest next to a river, ocean || nowhere is wonderful. i love spending my time with all this crazy people. || thank you! || thank you! || thank you nowhere. || i hate forms || nowhere was very nice for my first time!! i'll come back in 2010!!! || we're all doomed but might as well have some responsible fun all the way. || earth has not anything to show more fair. dull would he be of soul who could pass by a sight so touching in its majesty. - wordsworth || it's a great surprise, a link to our values, like a moment in another time or world. see ya next year! d-.-b || great Q's || warm showers are good. cold showers suck. || well done! ||
