i have so many to-dos. i really do need a personal assistant. tonight went to Kate's Paperie in Soho to buy reduced holiday cards. unlike last year they hardly had any products. it was depressing. a stationery desert. ABC Carpet is my next stop. ----- i'm also kicking around the idea of starting up this journal again. at least once a day i would have to focus and find something interesting to post.

Q. What would you like to tell young people?

A. I don't know...I think I would say..."Learn to love solitude, to be alone with yourselves." The problem with young people is in the way they...act noisy and aggressive in order not to feel lonely. This is incredibly sad to me. The individual must learn to be on his own like a child, for this doesn't mean being alone: it means not to get bored with oneself, which is a symptom of a very dangerous disease, in my view...

i need a short haircut. i love Kinder Eggs. they have amazing toys inside you assemble. one, a fish, has a magnifying glass for an eye which actually works and allowed me to see the pixels on my computer screen for the first time! i miss intelligent toys. i am happy this year will be over soon. i'm less ignorant than before and that is never a pleasant experience. working on holiday cards. knitting. designing.
