what feelings are you most comfortable with? what feelings do you experience most often? which ones fit like a comfortable shoe? which ones do you put out most easily? what comes harder to express and experience? ----- yellow roses from a couple of friends are Beautiful. thank you ladies! i get such joy from flowers. i want to sink inside them. maybe because when i was growing up my mom would bring huge bouquets from the theater. i used to eat rose petals. i also chewed on the wall. there is so much and yet it's not nearly enough, at least not under the current state of affairs.

from transalt.org...
In the past three weeks there were four serious bike crashes in New York City, three of them resulting in the deaths of individual cyclists, Donna Goodson, Dr. Carl Nacht and Derek Lake.
On June 5, Donna Goodson was killed by a truck on Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn. On Monday June 19, a taxicab driver opened his door and knocked a cyclist into the path of a passing bus on 10th Avenue in Manhattan. On Thursday June 22, an NYPD tow truck driver crossing the Hudson River Greenway hit Dr. Carl Nacht as he was riding with his wife northbound on the bike path. Dr. Nacht died Monday, June 26. On Monday June 26, Derek Lake was killed by a truck when his bike slid out of control and he fell beneath the truck on Houston Street at LaGuardia Place.
All four recent crashes were caused by dangerous conditions that are commonplace on New York City streets but should not be: drivers and passengers opening car doors into the path of cyclists; drivers failing to yield to cyclists and hazardous street conditions that can send bikes out of control.
Like the Mayors of London, Paris, Chicago and other world class cities that have recently unveiled comprehensive plans to make bicycling safe and widespread, Mayor Bloomberg must get serious about making New York City a safe place to bike. The City's "Bicycle Master Plan" is ten years old and only 15% complete. Moreover, it has no targets or timetable for completion, benchmarks for increasing cycling, or modern bike lane and path design standards--all hallmarks of exemplary plans recently put forth by cities like London and Chicago that will make cycling safe enough for all to enjoy.

dr. phil impressed me for the first time this week when he said "a marriage is not 50/50, it's 100/100" - this is so much healthier than assuming two people merge as one. when it comes down to it, we are alone. i do have moments when i feel completely isolated by this injury. the frustration gets so thick, i can't think about it. right now, i am simply exhausted. it's been a long day.

Designed in California. Made in hell by little children. So Apple is the new Nike. Does anybody care? i don't know if Apple was ever the company it claims to be. for a few years i've felt they're becoming more and more rotten. of course i can't imagine working on a PC. a third party would be a good thing.

physical therapy today was more painful but i hope more helpful as well. at the end i had 2 electric pins taped to my leg, one under the knee, the other above my ankle. every 20 seconds i had 10 seconds of shock therapy. the initial 2 seconds were very painful, contracting my muscle and helping to bring my toes up. this went on for 10 minutes. i know i have to be an active participant in my recovery but i also cannot wait to look back on this time and be thankful it's over.

i love physical therapy. the massage part is painful in spots but that's normal. the first month will show the most dramatic improvement in my mobility and after that it's going to be a slower process to build up my muscles. one of the therapists told me they only do one miracle a week and he's not sure when the next one is scheduled. i have exercises to do at home and i've been told that ice will become my friend. if i could, i would still trade 3-6 months off my life to undo this accident. it's a dramatic thought, but i continue to stand by it. next spring/summer better be Amazing! ----- caught up w/ a wonderful girlfriend this morning. she's Healing to talk with. i miss her a lot. ----- have been watching the World Cup. i can't find the exact amount online but the winning team gets millions of dollars in prize money. i'm disappointed romania didn't qualify. i haven't yet decided who i want to win. mexico for j.j. korea for many of my friends. somehow i can't view america as a serious soccer contender. they may buy good players but you also need spirit.

genetically engineered hypo-allergenic cats
The genetically engineered feline, which is expected to be available from 2007, is the first in a planned series of lifestyle pets, Los Angeles-based Allerca said in a press release...The GloFish, which went on sale in pet stores earlier this year, is a zebra fish implanted with a fluorescent sea anemone gene. "As long as people don't start eating cats and they don't enter the food chain, then we should be handled like the GloFish," Brodie told the AP.

My Architect is a wonderful movie. i've seen it twice this past week. it's excellent. a couple of years ago i was at yale and walked into the British Museum without knowing Kahn was the architect. i knew it was a great building, the details are amazing, the way the light falls, the Space! the man was a genius. he treated women terribly, he had 1 wife and 2 mistresses w/ a child by each woman. it was fascinating to hear both mistresses say how they loved him and put up with him treating them badly, because he was brilliant and charming. both women worked with him and both remained unmarried while raising his illegitimate kids. what low self-esteem! why do people play games and torture each other? why do they stay in relationships which are obviously unhealthy? how much is too much before you have to get out? and what is the price of Beauty?
